Lou Ludwig Success Tips: How You Use Your Spare Time and Spend Your Money

How You Use Your Spare Time and Spend Your Money

How You Use Your Spare Time and Spend Your Money

“Tell me how you use your spare time and how you spend

your money and I will tell you where and what

you will be ten years from now.”

Napoleon Hill 1883 -1970, American Self-Help Author

As I see it . . . . . . . .

How you use your spare time and spend your money

What do you do with your spare time?

Do you use it for healthy purposes . . . . and to maintain good health?

Do you use it to develop you’re your professional skills?

Do you use it to expand your thinking?

Do you use it to grow as a person?

Do you use it to meet new people . . . . and to expand your sphere of influence?

Do you use it do the important things in your life?

Do you use it to spend quality time with the people that are important to you?

How you treat money and the way you spend your money will show your respect for money . . . . and the way you will spend it in the future.

How you use your time and how you spend your money is a reflection into your character . . . . your respect for money . . . . and if your focused forward.

Well I can tell you I wish I was mature about my time and money when I was 20.  I'd be in a different place financially today.

LOL Tammy Lankford,'s comment - how true it is!

I was just bragging about one of my new young buyers today - perfect credit score, selling and buying a home and don't have to sell to buy. At 30, that is a rarity!

I like your quote selection. It is so easy to develop poor habits that will not contribute to our success or quality of life.

Good morning Lou.  This is something that I learned well from my parents and my early economic situation.

Good morning Lou. Certainly made some mistakes in my younger days! Enjoy your day!

I teach a real estate class on time hacks that differentiates between business and busyness. I see too many agents who don't realize that the time wasted in busyness can be used better for long term planning and vision.

Well, I certainly try to use my spare time effeciently and productively, but often times I just want to relax and do nothing, haha.

Hi Lou I am sure most of us wish we were wiser in both how we spent our spare time and spent our money!  Thankfully most of us figured it out! And if not, there is still time to do so.

So now I have a conundrum.  Am I still working because I did not spend my money wisely or am I still working because I like how I am spending my time?

Lou, there may be a decade or two I'd like to have a do-over. What a great post you've provided us today. I must put Napolean Hill into the read file.

A great post to get us thinking!  Most of us would probably like to go back in time and have "do-overs" with some of our financial choices!!

Hi Lou -- smart words -- great advice.  Lessons learned...many of them and over time.   Barbara Todaro is an AR member who comes to mind(quickly) that this rings true...

Lou, I love the Napoleon Hill quote, and you are so right. You tell a lot about a person by how they spend their spare time and money.

Great point made Lou.

I wish more people would spend some time and money on expanding their mind.

These are excellent tips Lou and as I approach retirement they are just as important (perhaps even more so).  Thanks for the reminders!!
