Lou Ludwig Success Tips: Put Your Mistakes Behind You

Put Your Mistakes Behind You

Put Your Mistakes Behind You

“What you do with a mistake – recognize it,

admit it, learn from it, forget it.”

Dean Smith, Basketball Coach

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Put your mistakes behind you

A mistake can be a learning experience . . . .  or a weight on your shoulders. What you do with a mistake becomes a personal choice.

Indentify your mistakes . . . . and what has caused them. Determine what happen . . . . and why . . . . and find a way not to repeat the mistakes in the future.

You can admit your mistakes . . . . and use the experiences as lessons to grow . . . .  Or you can be in a state of denial . . . . and be destined to repeat them.

You can carry your mistakes around with you to the point of exhaustion . . . .  Or we can move them into your past . . . .  and forget about them.

Mistakes are the tolls that you pay on your success journey . . . . pay them once . . . . and move on.

Put your mistakes behind you . . . . move on   . . . . and you will lighten your load on your success journey.

A hard lesson to learn Lou Ludwig -- been there, done that. So easy to beat up on yourself when one's standards are high. It's a daily "battle" to forgive myself and move on.

Good morning Lou. Recognize, admit, LEARN, then forget it and move on! Enjoy your day

If only everyone could take this lesson to heart! Progress is often hindered by living in the past and not moving on from old mistakes.

Mistakes and missteps can haunt you for years if you don't learn to move on from them. Don't be trapped by mistakes. Let them go.

Lou Ludwig I wish it was that easy. I still "live" with some of my mistakes from years ago.

Lou, it isn't that easy for some.... as some people can not let go of their past mistakes.

Lou, I agree with the quote and your post. I would only add you need to admit your mistake and then do everything else you stated..

Lou Ludwig it's one of the things that's easy to say, not so easy to do!

However, learning from mistake and moving on is the best thing, as you mentioned - leave it behind you!

And the fact is that everyone makes mistakes if they are trying new things. So mistakes are inevitable but can definitely help us learn how to do things better.

Good morning Lou Ludwig ,

So glad to see this post featured! I've always referred to "mistakes" as the toll we pay on our journey of success. We all make them and the important thing is to learn from them and move on..not making the same mistake again!

Webster says that a mistake is a "blunder", boy have I "blundered". I normally learn from the first one, although sometimes it takes more than one to learn from.

So true on mistakes being learning experiences. Most of our inventions are the results of mistakes that turned into our current every day items we use.

Good Morning Lou,

As the old adage goes, "We learn from our mistakes."

This a quote from Mark Twain. " 'If a cat sits on a hot stove, that cat won't sit on a hot stove again."

Happy New Year.

You never get anywhere by dwelling on your mistakes, but it's always good to remember them so they don't occur again.

Hi Lou Ludwig Great advice for us all starting the new year.

Posted by Fred Carver Personal Real Estate Corporation, Accredited Real Estate Consultant (RE/MAX Camosun Victoria BC Real Estate) over 4 years ago

The word "mistake" is a label I put on a situation in which the result was not what I had hoped.

I try like the dickens to avoid making a given mistake more than twice but sometimes it turns out to not be a mistake after all.

We all take actions based on our experience and expectations. Sometimes we wish we had done things differently, and we hope that the next time we will.
