Lou Ludwig Success Tips: Your Past Does Not Equal Your Future

Your Past Does Not Equal Your Future

Your Past Does Not Equal Your Future

“Life is a series of collisions with the future;

it is not a sum of what we have been

but what we yearn to be.”

Jose Ortega Y Gassett 1883 - 1955, Spanish Liberal Philosopher

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Your past does not equal your future

Your past has gotten you to where you are today.

You are living the life that you have created for yourself as a result of your thinking . . . . and your previous actions. You can’t go back and relive your past it’s in the history book of your life.  Your past only becomes an indicator of the future if you continue the same behavior . . . . and continue to do the same things that you’re currently doing.

If we want to change your future you have to change your thinking . . . . and your activities. Create a positive can do attitude in your thinking. Think in terms of what can be possible. A success future comes through the actions that you are taking today as they will determine your future and who you become.

Find your purpose . . . . and take massive action to achieve the future you want.

The activities that you take today become the building blocks for your future . . . .   The activities  that you choose to take today is your choice.

Your past does not equal your future . . . . your future is created one day at the time . . . . and today is the first day of your future.

Past is old, current is fresh, future is well, not here yet and could turn out different than you expect. Depending how you use today shaped with experiences from yesterday. It's a delicious cycle of enjoying life, the ride. Living it.

It's energizing to know our future is waiting to happen, and we create it with our daily actions.

I like to think that our past is what shapes us but the future is an open book that hasn't been written in. We have to decide how the rest of the story is going to go. Isn't that exciting?

Lou - this is so true.  And what do did in the past will not get you to where you want to go in the future.

Correct, past isn't the future because of the wonderful skills our minds have.

The future can be on auto-pilot, or it can be self-directed.

You're spot on Lou.  The past is done.  Over.  You can't change it.  What you can change is your future.

Good Morning Lou: This is a moving message each day and everyday. We can't just stare up in the sky and wish that we will be showered with blessings. Some are thrown in by luck or happenstance. But mostly, our future depends on how we mold it today.

Thank you.

Lou: You got me thinking on this one you posted; So if we are what our past has sterred us to today, why do we all want to do it all over again by saying, "If I had only done it this way?" I guess it's part of the mystery of human nature and never being satisfied.

A great quote that I ran across some years ago (but now can't remember where), "the wake doesn't propel the boat."

In other words, our actions propel is forward.

I needed this reminder today!  Thanks for sharing!

Lou- very true. I am a huge fan of Heidegger, who in sum states that the future will eventually become the place you are propelled forward from, so you had better plan a fabulous future!
