Lou Ludwig Success Tips: Clean Out The Cobwebs

Clean Out The Cobwebs

Motivational Power Quote

Clean Out The Cobwebs

“Sometimes the biggest gain in productive energy will come

from cleaning the cobwebs, dealing with old business, and

clearing the desks – cutting loose debris that impeding

forward motion.”

David Allen Author Personal and Organizational Effectiveness

As I see it . . . . . . .

Clean out the cobwebs

There are times that your energy seems to sink . . . . and you’re bogged down in loose ends and things are just not going right.

Clean out the cobwebs in your thinking . . . . and dig out of the layers of old and undone business that’s hanging over your head that’s draining your energy.

When you look at the pile of old stuff that your facing . . . . and remember how you eat an elephant . . . . one bite at a time. Your old stuff is like that elephant and when you first look at it . . . . it looks overwhelming.

Look at your old stuff and sort through it . . . . decide what’s important by their priorities . . . . and what you can let go of. Create a written list and action plan for what has to done . . . .  by their order of importance.

Don’t focus on the elephant . . . . focus on the next thing on your list and your list will become manageable one thing at a time.

Clean out the cobwebs . . . . and the level of your energy will increase by leaps and bounds.

Lou,

I do that every once in a while. Problem is, I get so organized I can't find anything.

Lou, great advise.  Last year I tried to work on several files at one time resulting at times in my not properly taking care of one.  The new year brought in a new routine for me.  I take care of one thing at a time.  Amazing how clean my desk stays and I no longer have to worry about getting something in the wrong transaction file.

I have heard this term before along with "clean out your closet". Whatever term that is used, the point is the same, the quicker we deal with old stuff, the better.

Make it a great week!
